Derrick (and us!) are in full swing with preparations. With clothes and other essentials to buy (us) and studying (Derrick), there is plenty to keep us busy for the next 31 days. He enters the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah on July 17, 2013. He will be there for two weeks before flying to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
We will update this blog weekly or bi-weekly with updates/stories/pictures we receive from him via email.
If you would like to email him directly, his address is: derrick.trotman@myldsmail.net. This will be his email address for his entire mission.
He will be able to read and write emails on Mondays. He may not have time to write back to everyone each week, so this blog should be a good way for everyone to stay updated with his week.
We will update the blog with current mailing addresses as we get them - I'm sure he would love a card, letter, or anything else that can be mailed.
